There has been pockets of joy in the midst of my bad patch of health since last September. My husband kindly took 2 pieces of my work to be displayed in a local art exhibition for the first time.
I was thrilled I sold a couple of my printed art images for the first time and I was definitely hugely encouraged. Day after day, year after year being so chronically ill & debilitated for decades you do feel pretty unfulfilled and it is a relentless battle at times to refuse to let the label ‘useless’ stick and become my identity. But I regularly remind myself my core identity is always as a child of God and I am part of the true living vine, Jesus Christ, and in Him I am a blessing … more on that subject who I am in Christ another time.

My 19yr daughter, Hannah, is also a creative and despite having the wretched ME illness too herself, in her better moments she uniquely designs images and then hand embroiders them onto a painted canvases. She too exhibited some of her work and was even well enough to go to the wine and canapés reception evening which was a happy first for her.
I will put some of Hannah’ wonderful canvases in my shop if you are interested to buy any at £12.50 go to www.gracedrops.online/shop

My husband & daughter enjoyed viewing the artwork and small handmade crafts all created in homes and garden workshops across Reading. It was a helpful reminder that there is a whole community of local artists busy painting and sculpting and throwing clay alone by themselves bringing beauty and wonder into the world.
Blessings in Him
Julia
